Inventor hang when trying to close/exit a assembly

I've been working on a assembly, each time i try to exit the assembly file,
inventor hangs. I've waited up to 30 minute and nothing, the only way out is
ending the process.

If i open any sub assembly all goes well.

Anyclue, hint to this?

EL,
Which release of Inventor (and SP level) you are uing?
I'm curious if unloading AutoLimits add-in makes things different or not.
Would you try it (if you are on R10 or 11)?
Thanks,

Sami,

I just tested my master assembly on my Dell laptop and the same happen. I
can save but it won't exit. sometimes after i force the end of the task, i
try to restart Inventor and the splash screen comes up, but it can take up
to 5-10-15 minute before it eventualy fully opens. Only a reboot will make
Inventor lunch normaly.

Something in my assembly is causing this. I have a diesel engine that came
from step (mostlikely proe)

I use 11 sp2.

What is AutoLimites add-in? (I'm still a rookie)

Ok,

here is a test i've just done, i moved my diesel engine assembly (i
suspected was causing the issue) away from my project folder. So when i
tried to load the master iam it couldn't find it, so i skip it. Once the
master iam was loaded, i saved and exited just fine.

So how can i find what is causing this to happen in my engine assembly?

Ok i've found the add-in manager and disable the autolimits, and that did
the trick.

What is that?

Thanks a bunch!

EL,
There is a known issue (DID 835455) and we've been chasing at.
AutoLimits is a new functionality in R11 - you can monitor model
geometry and mass properties with it (refer Menu: Help > What's New).
If you don't use AutoLimits functionality (I assume that's your case),
please disable it for now.

Ah, same problem (with an assembly w/ a step file). Thanks for the solution... it worked.
