Dear all,
today I wanted to download and install the Inventor Fusion 2013 Trial version.
During installation I get following error:
'This computer does not have DirectX9 installed'...
(see also attached screenshot)
1st question:
On Windows 7 typically is DirectX 11 installed, why Inventor Fusion 2013 asks for outdated DirectX 9???
2nd question:
How to solve this problem now?
My machine is Windows 7 Professional 64Bit, all Windows updates already installed.
It runs as virtual machine inside Oracle VirtualBox, latest version.
3D Acceleration is enabled.
dxdiag.exe says:
DirectDraw-acceleration: active
Direct3D-acceleration: active
The problem occurs if I download/install Inventor 2013 full package and also if I download/install only Inventor Fusion 2013.
Thanks for any help in advance,
best regards,
T. Burns
Try searching in the Installation & Licensing Forum. There may already be answers there, and if not, you can post there and probably get much quicker and more thorough answers than here.

That might have something to do with the Oracle VirtualBox. On a plain system (W7P x64, DX 11) it doesn't have any issues installing. When you run/check dxdiag, click/see the System tab... at the bottom of the System Information list, does it show "DirectX Version: DirectX 11" ?
I think that somehow Fusion is looking and seeing something other than Win7. Is thee anyway to stop the Oracle VB services on the machine and reboot it in Win7 without any Oracle VB running
Hi All,
I've spent the last 2 days trying to get 2013 to run on my computer.
I'm running winxp and have all updates.

I get runtime error when trying to start the program.
Installation is problem free but the program will not run.
I've changed settings in the card many times, checked the bios settings for video. and reinstalled driver and software many times
What's the deal? Useless program?
Thanks for any help.

Inventor and Inventor Fusion are two completely different programs.
You should be asking Inventor Fusion questions on the Inventor Fusion Forum http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Inventor-Fusion/bd-p/370
or on the installation forum.
