it depends on the version of Norton antivirus you are running.
If you are running 2003 Pro click Start -> Programs -> Symantec
Client Security -> Symantec Antivirus Client. Once started click Configure
-> File System Real-time Protection -> Uncheck Enable file system
real-time protection.
If you are running the regular version right click on the Norton Antivirus
icon in the task bar -> disable real-time protection.
