Yes, see, the thing about downloading is that it requires an internet connection.

Something just struck me, and now I'm wondering if he means "download a file, without internet access, that installs inventor," or if he means "download an installer which, during the installation of Inventor, doesn't require internet access."  Because, y'know, activation.

So, I'd sort of like some clarification on that point.

Hi Mrt_de,

If you have the Software on Subs you could request the Physical Media.

or speak to your local reseller and ask if they can send you a copy. (Again you have to own the software)

they should be able to request the media for you (But only the current version).

I don't think you can get Physical Trials anymore, they stopped doing that in 2011. (pretty much once they went to usb keys)

Anyway I hope this helps,

James

Are you a student?

I think Autodesk frowns on this (they are supposed to be the single source) - but ask your instructor or classmate to burn the install files to disk for you.

You will still need your own personal Serial Number (that you can get from the Autodesk Student Community, oops, you need interent access for that too) to Activate, and to do that you need internet access (at least email).  Well I guess you have at least limited access since you posted a question here.

Can you elaborate on your question a bit more?

Or find a Starbucks and get buzzed on Latte's while it downloads using their free WiFi.

Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

This isn't an unreasonable question. I setup a lot of computer for work and they often need all the same software. Forcing me to download the same install files on each computer adds hours to my work. It would be much more convenient if there was an Installer which would be copied onto a shared drive and used to install the software. Then the user can enter their serial number and activate once they are online.

Another example, I am currently reinstalling windows after a crashed hard drive. I would prefer to use another computer to download and have ready the install package for Autodesk Inventor. Instead I will have to wait until the new computer is completely resetup and then download the files onto that computer.

It seems silly that enterprise level software doesn't have a way to install the program on multiple computers without consuming huge amounts of bandwidth and time.

What?

Simply use the Browser Download method - the result is the same as having the install files on a DVD.

I never use the Autodesk Install Now.

One simple download to install on multiple machines.
