I had a crash on exiting Inventor 2012 (fully up to date, service packs installed etc.) and since that crash I can't open any drawing (.idw) file in Inventor: it appears to hang, with no processor activity etc.
The same files open, view and print fine with Inventor View.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Thanks for the responses.
I had worked out that opening the assembiles referenced by the drawing might work, by similarities between my problem and others' historical problems, and already tried it. It worked and solved the problem.
Some other factors that may be slowing things down in the add-ins
1) Number of applications being loaded
2) Number of file type translators being loaded
Then there is
1) When was the HD last de-fraged
2) When was the programs and windows last optimized
3) What is the systems size/amount of Virtual memory
4) When was the system last scanned for mall-ware, Virus or Spyware
These are just a few that spring to mind that will sped up things.
