I remember seeing this one time. I think how I corrected the issue was in IIS>Default Website>Home Directory tab, for some reason the Read was uncheck. If it is unchecked, check that and re-run the install.

Other things to check. If this is ADMS 2008, have ASP.NET to use 2.0.50727 and make sure ASP.NET is set to Allow.

Keep us posted.

I have solved the problem after I noticed I did not have an option to install AWS instead of using IIS. I disabled IIS, rei-installed using the AWS option and no problems. It is a relief that I have found a discussion group which people take seriously enough to post suggestions., thanks to all

What if it will not give you the option to change to AWS?

Hello,

If you really want IIS installed (i.e. for vaulting or centering a Content Center into just one machine) you really have to workaround this issue. It's a well known error message and it's written in the "ADMS 2008 advanced configuration guide" (the link to this document is broken, that's why you can't see it...google for it instead and go to page 64).

If you have server 2k3, you'll have to allow asp 2.0 in the application services (in IIS).

Plus, in XP and 2k3 do the following:

Open a command prompt.

2. Navigate to the %SYSTEMROOT%\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727 directory.

3. Type "aspnet_regiis.exe -i" and press Enter.

4. After this is complete, perform an IISRESET from a command prompt and restart the pre-checks.

This does it for most of the times.

Keep in mind: Only when you have IIS installed is when you won't have the option to install AWS.

David

That may just work for his issue.

This did solve all errors and warnings we had, (installation still failed Vault 2012).  Thanks this is key information that really helped.  Will keep on till we have a successful install.
