Insert > Image > "transparency" issue

Okay I'm inserting an image to trace. I check marked the Mask box and nothing. I can't see what's behind the image.

Is there a way to make it so I can see what's behind the image?

Look at the pixel in the lower-right corner of your image.  That colour will treated as the transparent colour for the rest of the image.
