IV9 SP1 - Bug - iParts - Threads

Iparts do not update when you have a hole feature that is a thread. If the iParts were created before release 9 it seems to be OK. If you create from scratch in Inventor Release 9 SP1 a rectangle of say 1 in x 1 in and thread of say a .112-40 UNC (#4) and then have the second row be 2 in x 2 in and a thread say .500-13 UNC (1/2-13) it will update the size but not update the thread. This is not too much of a problem unless you are making Pem Nuts that are round and when you change from a big size to a small size it will error out. Where do I go to have this resolved? Is there an AutoDesk web site for bugs or is this it? AutoDesk any help will be appreciated Thank You Dan Davison

One other thing On the "Tapped Hole Diameter" setting under "Document Settings", I use "Drill Size" not "Minor" Dan Davison "Daniel Davison" wrote in message news:4192659b_3@newsprd01... > Iparts do not update when you have a hole feature > that is a thread. > > If the iParts were created before release 9 it seems to be OK. > If you create from scratch in Inventor Release 9 SP1 a rectangle > of say 1 in x 1 in and thread of say a .112-40 UNC (#4) and then > have the second row be 2 in x 2 in and a thread say .500-13 UNC > (1/2-13) > it will update the size but not update the thread. > > This is not too much of a problem unless you are making Pem Nuts > that are round and when you change from a big size to a small > size it will error out. > > Where do I go to have this resolved? > Is there an AutoDesk web site for bugs or is this it? > > AutoDesk any help will be appreciated > Thank You > Dan Davison > >

Hi Thank you. I have seen Sean's documents. This appears to be a bug. You have not defined a variable for the size of the hole. You must specify both the hole diameter AND the thread, not just the thread.

Hi Dan, I"m not entirely sure if this is an issue. For example, I tried the steps you suggested and created an iPart. In this, if you go between row 1 and 2 you can see that the extrusion2 (hole) size and the thread change accordingly. You need to make the hole diameter also as a key. Isn't it? Thanks.
