Are you asking how to author parts for use with AIP Cable & Harness?

Nope, I'm an Inventor Amature. Just going through the What's New & trying to
sort it all out. This one's got me baffled.

You can now include work features in an iPart factory an either Include or
Exclude each added work feature in the individual iPart members. By default,
all work features are marked as Excluded (which of course you can change to
Included) except special work points in the Cable and Wire Harness
application, which are marked as Included by default.

Are you saying that IV Pro & IV Amateur have the same help files & we are
supposed to sort them out?

No, the help files are separate. I'm saying the functionality is in both
packages.

Which leads me back to my first post. Look at the help file under Work
Features & the default behavior for iPart instances. I'm still confused. But
then, I'm always confused.

You are correct in that the help topic makes reference to both. AIP has its
own help files, although it may be mentioned a few times in the AIS help
system.

Cheers,
Neil

Dave,

Strictly speaking, it would appear that the help portion in AIS regarding
iParts would be better if it omitted the discussion of electrical iParts.

In AIP, in order to support the end anchoring of wires - parts need to have
"pins" defined. The pins are work points. The help comment regarding
electrical components makes no sense in the AIS context because AIS has no
way to create the pin feature - so there is no point in discussing the pin
feature (or the iPart ability to automatically include the pin features) in
the AIS help topics.

Less confused now?

Yeah, thanks. I thought "Pins" referred to grounded work points. ( the
push-pin icon )
