Michael,
I'm really out of ideas here.
There is no simplifying to be seen on screen - in fact, in both files all
96000 triangles stay intact and visible, no bounding box or the like. On
screen, both files look exactly the same.
The only reason I can think of why IV rotates a 8000 feature part more than
10 times faster than a 8000 parts assembly is how the graphic subsystem gets
the informations about what to display - either 12x8000 triangles (read:
slow) or 96000 triangles from one solid (read: fast).
Anyway, in my real life work, I'm dealing with multiple k parts assemblies,
most parts being of simple rectangle shape. And IV is the slowest package
I'm using, and it grows slower with every release.
Regards,
