I have just migrated a data set from IV5 to IV10. I don't remember back
that far, but based on the migrated data ordinate dimension text must have
aligned to the extension line without the need of a dimension style
specifically formatted so and used for ordinate dimensions. However now
after migrating all vertical ordinate dimensions have text oriented
horizontally.... every ordinate dimension now needs to be changed to a new
dimension style to re-orient the dimension text, and in the process
tolerance overrides will be lost.
Why Autodesk, are not ordinate dimensions specifically covered within
dimension styles? IV once was this way (was it a bug?). AutoCAD has always
been this way. The need for a dimension style to specifically treat
ordinate dimension text alignment is short sighted and ridiculous. Sure
styles in IV10 make this a non-issue in non-legacy data, but what about
legacy data?
