IV2008 - How to get rid of AutoCAD Blocks in my template?

Right, so I tried the SheetSets (see other post) and I didn't liked it.

So I removed all the views, but then I noticed that the template had created
AutoCAD Blocks of each view (see picture)

There's no way I can find to delete these AutoCAD Blocks!!!

Does anyone know a trick (or button, or context menu) that will remove these
blocks from my template???

Yes I did, but there were no blocks in AutoCAD when I used the Purge
command.

So I just used "Purge All", which seemed to help, but I am still stuck with
one AutoCAD Block (Filled-1)

Even after deleting all my SketchedSymbols in Inventor and purging the DWG
with AutoCAD, the AutoCAD Block (Filled-1) is still showing up!

I have attached the template...

I had this problem with 2 blocks and they are tied to some dimension style. I got the filled-1 deleted, but never could find the other one to delete it out of the template. So I am very curious if an answer comes to this....Thanks, Larry

Thanks for the link!

It seems like an AutoCAD Block is created for the Filled of the standard
dimension style.

As an Inventor User, I don't want so see any of these AutoCAD Blocks in my
template. I can understand that Inventor creates blocks for all the views,
but why can't a dimension style be properly 'interchanged' with AutoCAD
(without making a block)?

Try using Quick Select option in AutoCAD Properties DB (Ctrl+1) (unless you
have already tried it).

Tuen,

I don't like saying I told you so, but you didn't expect it to work properly first time.

I think "half baked" is the proper terminology.

Give it another couple of releases. Before then I'd use AcadM and MDT to import Inv files and then annotate them before saving as DWG.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Hi Teun,
Say, it would be useful if you quote the message you have replied to. I was
following this thread and now I left wondering what is your reply all about?
Thank you,

I am not sure I am following you as well...? I am using Outlook Express, so
my reply is always right below the post I replied to. Maybe the web-based
discussion groups are in a different order? I don't know...

Anyway, my reply "Exactly! As clean as possible :-)" was to ljapsey, who
wants to have his template as clean as possible as well.

But I just tried your suggestion, the Quick Select states that there's
nothing to select.
If I open the DesignCenter (Ctrl+2), I can see the Filed-1 block, but I
can't remove/purge it.

I am still stuck with this ugly block...

That's interesting. I can only see your reply but not the quoted one. I am
using Outlook Express too. However, my reply starts above the thread I reply
to. Maybe that's why I don't see your posts the way you compose them.
Regarding the stubborn block. You did try WBLOCK didn't you? You are welcome
to send the drawing to me so I could have a crack at it.
Igor.

Strange! I have attached a picture how my Outlook Express looks like.

I have attached my DWG template in my reply to Dennis Jeffrey, but here's

Hi Teun,
That's what I see on my end. Your reply doesn't show a quoted post you reply
to.
Now, I have a look at the drawing. Open Dimension Style Manager and under
Symbols and Arrows you will find the culprit. Change the Arrowheads to
Closed filled, save, close. Now you can purge the block.
Regards,
Igor.

Got it...perfect!
The trick is that you have to open it in Acad to find the problem, that's the part I was missing........

So we now need to use AutoCAD in order to get a clean Inventor drawing
template??? I don't like the way this is going...

Note to Autodesk: even though Inventor and AutoCAD are being brought
together closer and closer, I want to be able to clear my Inventor templates
with only one program. And as I am using Inventor as my main CAD package, I
want to use Inventor to set up my templates.

Well now that I made that change, I have this lines sticking out past the arrowheads when i push the arrows to the outside. Anyone know which setting controls this? That is the only change I made was to the arrow head from filled-1 to closed/filled. Thanks, Larry
