IV11 Dimension Not Like IV10

Please take a look at the attached picture. Why does IV11 SP2 put the dimension value so far away from the arrows when the value is place outside of the arrows? It did not do this in IV10 SP3a

I know it's a pain, but if you drag the dimension from the middle or near the right side, Inventor will let you move it closer to the arrow. Seems like only if you try to drag it from the left side (the natural place) it doesn't work.

Drag it towards the extension lines and it should "snap" to a nicer location.

It's a bug, it becomes really obvious if you add text to your dimension
string. It is especially obvious when you use dual dimensions (as I do),
but it seems the effect is proportional to the amount of spaces in the
dimension string.

If you have a dimension that contains vertical text and you try to drag it
horizontal, the effect is really pronounced, since you can't drag it even
close to where it would be in R10. Often dimensions will go right off the
sheet, with no way to bring them back.

It appears to be logged as issue 801400, but it is taking waaaaay to long to
address this. It is another example of something that suddenly became
busted in R11.

I can only hope that SP3 is on the way.

I would like to thank all of you for your replies and suggestions. I guess I will continue to drag the dimension to where I want them. Maybe Autodesk will fix this in IV2008?

"Maybe Autodesk will fix this in IV2008?"

Well it's 2014 and the answer is still no. Smiley LOL

When I first saw this thread I thought "why is it so hard for people to differentiate between version 11 and 2011".

you can adjust some of those settings in your annotation dim styles, have you looked into that particular one?
