When modeling in the Inventor environment I prefer to use a custom gradient background. When I create image captures for presentations I prefer the images to maintain a white background. Is there a feature which easily allows me to do so?
Tools>Application Options>Colors and set to Presentation (one color) background.
Or use Presentation background in Studio.
This is doable yes, but unfortunately this method doesn't lend itself to an iterative design process. This means each time I want to export an image capture for presentation I would have to change my Application options Color Scheme, and Background type... I will also have to reverse these selections when returing back into work mode. I'm confused as to why Inventor wouldn't include this as a standard bare-minimum feature... From an Industrial Design perspective this feature is absolutely necessary. Perhaps Inventor's primary focus isn't intended to be a design tool as much as it's an engineering tool?
Hi desilva2010,
I typically just work with a white background all of the time, but I set it up as decribed here:

But if that's not for you, then you can use this addin to take screen captures with a white background while working with any other color background:
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Thanks Curtis, I've installed the plugin but it's nowhere to be found in Tools>Options>Plug-ins manager. Should I contact the authors?
