Hello all,
I am new to Inventor and CAD software so this may be a simple questio. I would like to know more about the assembly mode. I have 2 cylindirical parts, which are supposed to slide into one and another. There is a groove into one cylinder can lock into another. How can I align so that one part can slide in and slide out correctly. Also, I want to know how to solidify the parts because everything just slides through each other. I have attached my parts.
Thank You in advance
First examine these two parts very carefully (including the sketches).
You are doing too much work.
Place these files in a different location than your originals.
Part2 is the sliding part in my example.
I recommend that you go through the Help>Learning Tools>Tutorials....
Oops, I realized that the hole in your Part 2 was not large enough for clearance.
See the attached revised parts.
Thank you for your help. I see you used some realtionship called flush. I will look into that. Also, is there a way for me to reverse which part slides? I would like part 1 to do the sliding.
Thank you for your assistance.
Right click on Part2 and select Grounded.
Right click on Part1 and un-select Grounded.
I recommend that you go Help>Learning Tools>Tutorials and go through those.
