How can I move figures by numbers?

Hi there,

I have no idea how to move figures by numbers?

For example (attached), I made a hole in a plate and now I'd like to move the hole x: 0.01 inch, y: 0.02 inch.

How can I do it?

Do I have to delete it and just draw a hole again?

Thanks for your helps!

Have a nice day.

You placed your Sketch2 at the projected point of the origin.

The origin is fixed in space.

If you want to move your hole

delete the coincident constraint

or

do not place it constrained to the origin.  Then you can dimensionn the location wherever you want.

You have to learn how to "edit" sketches.

But as JD said you "stuck" the center of the circle to a fixed point using a "constraint".

Delete that constraint then move/dimension your circle as needed.

Or you could just delete it and start again.. BUT if for example you have used that part in an assembly and constrained something to the hole and now you delete that feature.. The constraint is now broken. Where if you simply edit the sketch the constraint will still be there and the part will move accordingly.

you could change the way you place the point to make the hole too

You placed it to the center point ...locking it in ..vs doing it this way where you can adjust the hole as need be via Edit as mentioned above

In Inventor 2015 there is a direct editing tool, but I recommend you learn the parametric tools first.
