Hide hatching of a part within a section view: how?

I have a cylindrical shaft passing through a bearing.  I have a section view showing a cut-away of half of the shaft and bearing.  Automated hatching results.  I bring the bearing out of the section view (Rclick > Section Participation > None), and the hatching of the shaft remains visible, through the bearing. An image of this is shown below:

Bad.PNG

I would like to hide that hatching that shows through the bearing, so that it looks like the image below:

Good.PNG

How can this be done?

hi Stuart,

it should not do that by default. i just tested one of mine for comparison, see my snapshots.

can i ask if those items are drawn out of the content center or design accelerator or did you draw them yourself?

maybe you can post the parts so we can test them ourself to see if we can isolate the problem?

best regards,

.ipt's were drawn by another employee.  I have attached the two relevant files.  Testing them alone in a new dwg gives me the same results.

there are still parts missing.

the best way to get all parts and sub assemblies is to do a pack and go.
