Hidden Line

Hi,

On idw 2d drawing, how to show a view's partial hidden lines? Only one way to do is just like this:
show all hidden lines, and invisible some of them? If there are a lot of hidden lines (says 100), and only one line to be shown??

Same procedure, select un-desired lines, RMB and "Hide"

Turn off layer with visible lines to make it easier to select hidden lines.

Window or crossing window select the lines not wanting to show and right mouse button hide.

Turn on layer with visible lines.

I think someone posted an easier method of temporarily turning off visible lines a while back without turning layer on/off. If I recall correclty it had something to do with RMB in browser.

I think this workflow would be less painful.

turn off visible lines
window select hidden lines
change to an un used layer
then just select the lines you want visible
return them to the hidden layer
turn off the un used layer.

Either Jd's method or this one will be best depending on the ratio of used vs unused lines on the hidden layer.

With newer versions of Inventor (you didn't mention which one you are using, and I can't remember when they added it) for assemblies you can turn on hidden lines for specific parts (right click on them in the browser).
