Help! Big error!

I came in today (monday) and opened the file that I was working on on
friday and got this error:

>> Error loading segment AmAppSegment in database
>> C:\_Inventor\Semi\3C062089L17.iam

Then, when I select [OK] for that error box, I get the Inventor Dialogue
box (the one that gives you errors when you're putting bad constraints,
etc) and it gave me this error message:

>> Error in reading RSe segment - the number of objects found in the
>> segment does not match the segment summary

And it simply won't let me into my files. Can anyone help me? I've got
a whole lot of time into this assembly, and I'm nearly finished.

The plot thickens:

In an attempt to actually get some work done with IV this morning, I
rebooted and tried to open another assembly in the same project. When I
did, I got the following series of error messages:

--------------------------------------
Runtime Error!

Program C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 6\Bin\Inventor.exe

abnormal program termination

[OK]
--------------------------------------

--------------------------------------
The instruction at "0x65199124" referenced memory at "0x0000000c". The
memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to teminate the program

[OK]
--------------------------------------

--------------------------------------
Inventor.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

[Cancel]
--------------------------------------

If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Right now I'm going to
reboot again and see if that helps anything.

-Jason

I found the big issue: I don't know how it happened, but to fix the
problem I opened one of the 'Old Versions' a sub-assy in the bigger
assy. I did a "Save Copy As" back to the original filename, and made a
few fixes that didn't get recorded in the Old Version. Then everything
was okay with the overall assy. So, the problem isn't solved (still
don't know how to prevent it) but at least my project is fixed.

Thanks all...

Are you running semi-isolated? If so, are you checking in and checking
out files? I have had some problems related to Inventor not putting the
files back. When this happens, I have to go into the OldVersions
directory (like you did) and copy the files back. Inventor gets a bit
cranky about the replacments but it does work.

The project I'm in isn't shared at all. It resides completely on my
hard drive, and Multi-User is set to off. So I don't thhink that is the
problem. But I've got it all working now. Hopefully I'll receive
version 7 soon and won't see as many errors like this anymore.

Thanks,
-Jason
