Hi:
I need a funnel shaped plenum made out of sheet metal that starts out as 1-inch elliptical tube with a 5.5-inch major and 5 inch minor axis and a flat flange on the opposite end, then cones down over a 3-inch long axis to a 2.5-inch circular tube about two inches long.
This isn't all that hard to do as a standard part, but my thoughts are to try to do it as a sheet metal part where flange would be made out of flat stock, the elliptical tube and cone would be rolled flat stock, and the circular tube made out of cut tube stock--all 0.062 thick. The four pieces and their seams would be welded together.
So how do I do this?
