Is it possible to fold a waterjet back cut 1/2" steel plate in inventor? I cant seem to figure this one out.
Post what you have so far.. along with the version of Inventor you are using..
You should be able to just use the "bend part" command.
Its a good idea to include that in your signature file like I have so people know whatch got...:)
Attached is the file. What I'm trying to do is fold the part along the groove.
Added my system into my sig aswell, thanks for the suggestion
Is ths what you're trying to do? Be aware that the Bend Part command doesn't calculate the deformation of the bend.
I can't open the model but seeing rdysons picture the bend part feature is exactly what you want.
yes thats it, so use bend part?

There is the very real possibility that the best way to model is use finished "as-bent" rather than bending up from flat.

Not when back relief cuts like that must be included/modeled. In this case using bend part is the closest to the real life process.
I'll wait for the OP to attach a finished part.
