File selection quirks, IV2009SP2 Pro 64 bit on Vista SP2, latest updates

I have a PC running the aforementioned versions of the software, and found a weird quirk that is probably some setting somewhere to fix it:

In many of the File Dialogs, for example Place Component, I will scroll to where I can see the filename and then click on it, but the click only highlights it, it doesn't place the file in the Open box down near the OK button. If I select another file after that, it does place right and I can then re-click the file I want, so by current workaround is to click the wrong file first, then the right file, instead of right=wrong-right, now it is just wrong-right, but that's still ONE click extra that I don't want!

Additionally, this install of Inventor crashes to desktop trying to IMPORT any foreign filetypes. My UAC is off and I am the administrator. I'm only seeing this on the Vista 64 box with IV2009SP2. Any one else see this problem? Virus scanner is AVG9, turned off resident shield during install too.

I am running almost identical down to the AVG9 with UAC disabled. No
problems at all with the system or with what you described.

I have a Vista 64 Service Pack 2 system (Avira AntiVir)running that does
not have this issue. I do have a few other quirks, like often having to
pick shortcuts twice to get them working.

This issue has been confirmed by Autodesk. Last I heard, they were investigating it.

Same problem here.
Also the file pointer does not go back to previously selected file in the Open window.

Has anyone heard of a solution to this issue yet? I have Inventer 2009 on Windows 7 (freshly installed Windows 7) with all service packs and updates. I have this same issue.
