Feature pattern (assembly) issues

Hi'.

I'm making a model of a spiral stair case, and I'm having some issues with the steps.

I'm attempting to pattern the steps along the railing, using a feature pattern, in my assembly.
I constrain the first step to my railing(using a feature patterned along the railing) and center tube/beam.

When I then pattern the step along the railing, all the steps point "west" like the original step.
This means, that only the first step is attached to the center tube, all the other steps are floating in the air.

I find it a bit odd, because the first step is constrained to the center tube.

What am I missing here?
Let me know if pictures are needed, or I need to make a more detailed description.

See if this helps.

If not, attach your assembly here.

I've attached the files.

Ignore the odd dimensions, as this isn't for an actual stair case, but a model.

You must have skipped the suggestion to read that document.

I would have done the design differently, but -

Open Trappe2.ipt and edit Rectangular Pattern 3 and change to settings below, then Update the assembly.

I actually read the document, but I couldn't find the solution in there, as I have no experience with the pattern function.

I know the design is strange, but again, it's not for a real stair case. The design might change as this drawing is just used to get an idea of, how to draw the project, and decide a scale.

I've got the pattern now. Thank you very much!

Hmmm, I am going to have to edit that document - should have been in the image with Tip#41, but I forgot to expand the dialog box.  That paper was for an 60min condensed version of a earlier 90min class.
