Failed Flange

Hi,

Can someone take a look at the attached sheet metal part and tell me why I get an error on Flange15?

It is identical to Flange14 which gives no error.

I also tried to mirror Flange14 to no avail.

Thanks,

Ken Schumacher

Changing the offset distance from 0.011xxxx to Thickness suceeds using 2011

Yes, I realized that, but that is not an option as this is part of a weldment. See attached jpg.

Why is it that Flange14 is identical dimensionally - and works?

BTW: I'm also using 2011.

Thanks,

Change Corner Round2 to a Full Round Fillet and Flange14 fails as well. IV apparently doesn't like cuting a cross the tangency to create the relief.

A work around (until someone has a better solution) is to create the relief first.

What manufacturing process (especially for weldment) can hold dimensions to the kind of tolerances that would be needed out to those decimal places?

A valid question, but doesn't explain why IV fails where it shouldn't.

Rdyson,

You were right. You get unexpected results when putting the corner rounds in before the flanges.

I had another one that I had to change.

Thanks again for your help.

I needed that slap up side the head.

Ken -
