Exporting inventor part files

Hi
Is there a way to export inventor part files to
types like *.nc, *.dwg, *.3ds, or other typesthat I
can convert to use on our Prolight Milling machine?

Thanks
Jim

does your cnc program import acis (.sat) files?
that might be the best way to translate to it if it does.

The translation program we have only take *.3ds, *.dxf or *.stl files. I guess we will have to hunt around for a translator for those file types.

it does export to dwg  but you have to load
the translator first.

Tools --> Add-Ins...  highlight the
Autodesk dwg Translator .. tic on Load On Startup

Sorry for being clueless. I am assuming that once the translator is loaded, one can then "save copy as" but I could not see the listing on the file types.

I saw in your previous post that your program does accept STL files...
In the Add-In manager, there is an option for "Autodesk STL Translator", and
you can "Save Copy As" an STL.
Just make sure when you go to "Save Copy As", hit the "Options" button and
pick "High" for "Resolution". Then be prepared for a pretty large file...

I have done the loading of the add-in but it does not show up in the "save copy as" dialoge box. There is obviously something I am doing wrong
Thanks
