Editing in place

Sometimes in an assembly when I go to edit the part in place, I RMB and the "edit" is greyed out only on certain components?

Just wondering why this is?

maybe you have it open in another window, you cant edit in place if its already open, I think

I think I would give Stephen the Correct Solution credit rather than mcgyvr.  Correct?
