Does anyone have a 3d model of a whole cooked turkey?

I know this sounds silly, but I'm serious. I just don't have the time to model one because of deadlines, but it would be a nice touch to show at the presentation on Friday. Please help if you have one! TIA.

Can you use duck instead?
The student modeling this assured me she will be done by Thanksgiving.
On the right is her 2nd or 3rd attempt. On the left is her current version in progress.

JD, I usually respect what you have to say, but I don't think an animated rendering of a project oven will go over very well when my client watches the oven door open and a rubber duckie appears smiling inside. Since no one has any real input or models, no more responses are necessary. Thanks to all.

Cut the head off before cooking. Sculpt with Remove option or Delete Face with Heal option.

Here's a start... IV2010. Unconstrained, 5 minute part.

P.S. I ate the legs, so you will need to add them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Cheap and dirty. (heh heh, 'cuz I used the Dirt texture for the color.)

Sorry, I just saw you're on 2008. Edited by: dan_inv09 on Nov 19, 2009 2:22 PM

Thanks for all those that sent some models, I appreciate the input, but unfortunately, I have 2008, and feel way behind the times.

When I tried opening the step half the breast flipped inside out. I hope you have better luck. (Or just try and only show it from the other side.)

Yeah I saw, but that side will be facing the back of the oven, so it's all good. Thanks again! Edited by: jlackey4740 on Nov 19, 2009 7:36 PM

I see it's too late, but maybe it could be useful for next year.
The workflow could be useful for next projects:

- I downloaded the .lwo (Lightwave) file for free from Turbosquid
(http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/free-cooked-turkey-3d-model/330924);
- I imported it into Blender, I saw it was a low poly model, so I
smoothed and applied SubSurface (Level=2);
- I exported it to DXF;
- In Mechanical Desktop I imported the DXF file and exported it into
IGES (via IGESOUT command).

It's heavy to manipulate into Inventor, but I think that it's sculptured
shape is quite good.

Cheers,
MarcoA

Do  you still have this rubber duck file? I'm modeling the same exact one and I could use the help...

Thanks...

You probably should have started a new thread and only provided a url reference to this thread.

In any case, the design was done by one of my better students and she spent very significant amount of time to get this - I would not feel comfortable just handing over the work.  But I would be happy to look at what you have attempted and help you along to the solution (expect to spend around 6 - 8 weeks to complete the model assuming you have had good instruction in surface modeling techniques).

If it helps - here is most of the feature tree.
