Dimensioning

Is there a way to make a horizontal dim from one view to another?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know, you cannot dimension from one view to another. You could
probably fake it with sketched entities, but why? Since moving the views
would mess up or change the dimension, I would try to avoid it.

Thanks Ed, This would be a nice "wish list" item

It seems to me that I successfully did this a while back. Here's what I did:

1. Align the (2) views.
2. Begin a dimension but you'll only be allowed to pick the (2) dim points on one of those views.
3. Once the dim is in, rclick and "done".
4. Zoom in until you see the dim point and the 2nd view you wish to dim to.
5. Select the dim once
6. Grab the green dim dot and drag it to the other view's point where you want this dimension to stick.

It took me a few times to get it right but it should work. The only thing I can't remember is if the dimension will automatically update to the correct dimension. You may have to put that in manually.

Hmmmm - what do you know. I actually helped someone instead of them helping me. Glad it worked good for you.
