Hello,
First post here so hopefully it works out well. I'm having difficulty with a sheet metal part creating a flat pattern for it. The shape is an ellipse with the dimmensions shown in the second picture. When I attempt to create a flat pattern it just shows the side of the part. The sheet metal defaults are correct for the part and it was ripped to created a base point for the pattern. I need to create a DXF for manufacture. I would just use the flat pattern it gives me and mirror it twice to create a pattern but it doesnt factor in the radius of the part. Any thought on how to create a correct flat pattern for this item?
Thanks

What version of Inventor?
Do not sketch the thickness - Inventor will do that for you.
Only need one ellipse.
Contoured Flange (from the sheet metal tools).
Rip
Flat Pattern.

Let me give that another try - looks like Contoured Flange won't select an ellipse. (and you left out some inportant information about the trims)

I have to run - so not time to finish the part, but you get the idea
