Cut on cylinder part.

Hi,

Struggling to figure out how to do this one cut (highlighted on .jpg)? I'm attaching the drawing with the cut highlighted and the .ipt with my current progress.

Could someone also tell me how i would get the top and bottom holes lined up correctly according to the drawing? I know how to work the pattern feature but i'm not sure how to get them lined up as they are on the attached drawing.

Thanks in advance 🙂

Something like this?

Oops, I didn't get that exactly right.  Back in a few.

It looks like it, thanks! 🙂 How did you know it was 126 degrees though? Just a very accurate guess? I guess you have been doing this for a long time 🙂

The holes on the top of the cylinder (my second question). How do you line those up with the drawing? As i cant use the normal planes to lock the points before creating the holes..

Guestimation from the drawing (see Sketch13) since the dimension was missing.

I passed this class 26 years ago -

see attached for the holes.

I would probably add fillets to the cast surfaces (even though not shown on the drawing) and break the sharp edges of the holes (chamfer).
