Creating curvature for a cutting tool

I am trying to model this tool and I can't seem to get the tooth to curve around at a radius of 35mm. I've tried creating the curved profile on the bottom face and extruding it out but this gives me a 90 degree angle between the four teeth when the angle needs to be 104 degrees. Any ideas on how to create this geometry?

I enjoy a good challenge and I'd love to help you out but I'm not sure I understand the geometry of the tool well enough to be of any assistance. From the image you sent, it makes sense for the teeth to be 90 degress apart... If they're 104 degress apart then your 4th tooth is at 312 deg from the first tooth and then you have an inconsistent gap. I may just be confused.

Do you have an image of the tool? Maybe something that can help convey it's physical geometry?

Thanks,

Will

EDIT: I'd also like to mention that your image makes it difficult to tell what curve that 35mm is actually dimensioning.

Is this a school project? There should be quite a few examples on the forum already. Look for Sweep or Emboss.

Thanks!

Hopefully this will clarify a few things. This is the top view of the tool.

I replied through email so maybe that's why it didn't attach.

Can you attach your *.ipt attempt here?

I agree with JD that a copy of your part file might also help, but in your response about a top view of the tool, there was no attachment.

Happens.

Thanks,

Will

Here is my part file and the drawing with the respective dimensions as well as a pdf of the changes I need to make. Thanks for your help!

Here's my version (2014). I've placed a draft according to the look of Photo(4), but it doesn't make sense. Draft can be suppressed.

Thank you for your model. I noticed that you didn't keep the angled edge I had along the curve (circled in the attached picture). How would I add that feature?

No big deal. Simply change Sketch71 for Rotation10

You misunderstood me, take a look at my original tool model and you'll see what I mean. It's the area on the revolution of that sketch that has to have two flats instead of a smooth curve.

Hmm. IMO, the flat spots in Tool_04.ipt don't make much sense.

Can you show the whole original 2D drawing?

The flats are not in the drawing because that is a revision I need to make. The flats are the most important part of this tool because they are the cutting edge, and thus need to be there. Does that make more sense?

😉 Yes.

Hmm. There's still pressure with neighboring faces. Changing draft of Extrusionsurface2 to 20° should do it.

Not sure what you mean by "Extrusionsurface2". There's nothing with that name there.

Well, I'm here with a German version.

😉 But it's not too difficult, connecting my name Extrusionsurface2 with ExtrusionSrf2.
