Creating a Gear

1. I am trying to create a gear part. Can anyone provide any assitance in creating one of the teeth for the gear. If I can get one "tooth" I know how to create the other 11. The steps provided here will help me with another part I want to create.

2. I also want to learn how to create this same gear using the Design Accelerator in the Assembly file template. I did create the part using the Design Accelerator and create a 3 section shaft. I wanted to add gears to the 2nd section of the shaft but the Design Accelerator was confusing with all of the information that is necessary to input and know for the shaft.

The way i do this is as follows.

1) create the gear using the gear creation tool, then suppress the gear i done need.

2) create a shaft using shaft generator

3 create a new ipt, and derive the shaft and gar into this part.

the other gear can be used in the same way to make the to create the other side with a shaft if required.

What book are you referencing to learn gear geometry?
