Crash on derived part due to D.A. move

I created an assembly and the main parts that make up the assembly are "derived" from a single part. This seemed to work out great with the frequent design changes. However, our customer decided the wanted all the parts and sub-assembies renumbered and devided in this complex directory structure. So, I used "Design Assistant to make the appropriate changes and relocations. Now that everything is renamed and relocated, inluding the "base part," all of the derived parts crash Inventor or Volo View instantly when opening. CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE?!!!

Hi bbarbour

I have tried to recreate your scenario and have not been abled
to reproduce the error that you describe. This must mean that I am either not
reproducing the steps correctly or there may be something specifically wrong
with either your workflow or your setup.

Can you open any of the lower level files?

What error message do you get?

Were you doing this remotely over a network?

If working in a multi user environment did you have all the
files checked out to you?

Can you provide me with some or all of your files to have
a look at in a pre crash state (ie before you renamed\relocated them in DA).
Preferably with the main assy, and some parts with derived parts
inserted.

I can provide details of a secure ftp where you can upload
them.
