Coordinate display

Hi,

Is there a numerical display of coordinates in Inventor
that corresponds to the location of the cursor?

Thanks,
Martti

When sketching, there is a set on the status line that reads x,y /
length / angle while drawing. Is that what you are looking for? You
can also turn the Precise Input dialog.

AFAIK, in sketcher there is (don't really need it outside of sketcher, since
you're in 3D)

Look in the status bar.

As noted above look in the lower right hand corner as you are sketching. By the way I had to fire up Inventor and check if the precise input tool bar needed to be loaded to see the coordinates (it doesn't) because I haven't used coordinates since my first month on Inventor. One of my early complaints was no direct distance entry ala ACAD or spacebar to repeat last command. Somehow I no longer wish for direct distance entry or even notice coordinates, but I still often wish for spacebar repeat.

I agree on both counts, although I've found that to some degree, a
similar feature exists.

For example, if you want to draw disjointed lines in a sketch, draw the
first line, press enter and you can now draw another line elsewhere.

As for co-ordinates, I can get a sense of proportion based on the sketch
grid. For example, my imperial template is set up with minor grid lines
set to inches and major to feet.

The only co-ordinate I use is 0,0 via the Precise Input toolbar.

I wish Repeat Last Command was on the RMB context menu - as with Acad.

I also wish there were more functions on RMB, such as drawing a circle, drawing
an arc and the other main functions. If it means having Alt.+RMB, Ctrl+RMB &
Ctrl+Alt+RMB then so be it, but a lot of us are already familiar with this
functionality.

If you are going to hit Alt + RMB why not just click C for circle or L for
line.

R8 offers customizeable hotkeys as well.

Make the origin centerpoint visable and project geometry and you don't have to use the precise input toolbar.

Good point.

Alt+RMB and the others would be a last resort. I feel more could be put onto the
RMB context menu and flyouts.
