Controling assemblies with joysticks

If I want to control a mechanism assembly, like an excavator, on screen with a couple of joysticks, how can this be done?

 

The idea is to test the suitability of mechansims and their controls.

Get solidworks because it can do it... Smiley Surprised ohh nooo did I just say that..

As far as I know this cannot be done in Inventor...

 

Maybe with some custom vba/serial monitor programming but I've never seen any examples of that anywhere.
