Constraining a 2 jaw gripper

Is there a way to have a 2-jaw parallel gripper's jaws move in synch?  That is when I move 1 jaw the other one moves the same distance.

Yes.

Attach your assembly here.

What book are you using to learn Inventor?

What makes you think I am using a book?  Can't an educated guy ask a question?

Part #

MHF2-12DR-M9BWSAPC_2

appears to me to be the same as

MHF2-12DR-M9BWSAPC_3

is there any physical difference between these parts?

That is how the model comes in.  Same part, 2 instances.

Looked like 2 parts, one instance each to me.

Try the attached.

You can drag the seed or right mouse button and Drive Constraint on the "Drive This".

I didn't take the time to set up Open/Closed Position Reps with this arrangement.

...you could also do with the 2 parts, I just thought this was easier.

How?

I know you have this marked as solved, but another way to do this is to use the new "Symmetry" contraint.  I used the midplane of the base block as the center plane.

Now when you drag one (or set an offset distance).... the other moves the same amount.

Forgot (or maybe didn't even know) there was a symmetry constraint now.

(I took the liberty of marking your suggestion as the solution.)
