Hi all,
So here is the issue:
I am making a control console with a bunch of plastic tags on my pilot devices. I use the sketch text tool to write the label on each tags.
When comes the time to make my drawing, I get my model sketch and they show on my 2D, no problem.
Well today, it seems Inventor 2014 just gave up on giving me my sketches. Here is the console view of of the lid with the tag texts showing:
Now let's go over the second lid on the same plan and get my model sketch to see the rest of my text.
Click on it and ....
Nothing! still no text.
Can someone explain to me what I could possibly doing wrong?
Thanks

How are the tags themselves modeled? So, the text is just a sketch on the part? What process do you use to show the sketches in the drawing? Can you post a screen shot of the assembly, like an iso view? Have you tried using Emboss for the tag text? Then it becomes a solid feature and should always show in the drawings.

I do not wish to emboss them as it would take too much memory when processing my 2D drawing.
Yes the text is just a sketch I add to my blank tag. To display them, I usually just click on my part in my tree while making my drawing and click "get model sketch" and they pop right up. For some reason it worked on my bottom lid as shown previously, but in the same plan I bring up the top lid as well and I can't seem to make it happen on this one...
See attached screenshots:
Quick update I found out at the end of my day:
I created a couple other drawings that include that specific top lid and it seems that I can bring every tag I designed but the one included ont he top lid!
Could I have possibly turned something off on my assembly preventing from showing sketches?
Hi CTravert,
Is it possible that your drawing view or the assembly is a bit of axis and therefore the view of the assembly is not truely orthographic? I ask because only orthograhic views can display the included sketches. I've run into this in the past when trying to show sketches in isometric views.
Also check to see that your drawing view is set to be associative, see link:

Just some thoughts that came to mind.
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Unfortunately, my views are perfectly flat and not angled.
I always un-ground my part when I start an assembly to center it to the assembly planes, therefore they should be perfectly flat.
I checked the associativity of my view with my model and it's on, no issue there.
Still stuck this morning. I will try to mess with it today again.
Well I just found out what was wrong, and I indeed feel a bit stupid as my view was in a bit of an angle.
Very slight my eyes couldn't tell.
Thanks for the tip.
