Cannot change Design Data (Styles, etc.) folder via Application Options

There are two similar posts on this problem without solutions, so I thought I'd post again since I have the exact same issue.

Problem: I cannot change the default folder location for Design Data (Styles, etc.) via Application Options. I restarted, did everything I could think off, but nothing works.

Any idea what's going on here?

It turns out I didn't try everything...

I closed IV, renamed the "Design Data" folder to ".Design Data" and started IV. IV then created a new "Design Data" folder (seemingly empty). I could then change the default folder location via App Options, and IV remembered the setting (location). I then closed IV, renamed the the ".Design Data" back to "Design Data" and now she is happy. And me too.

Remember that the Project File Settings override any Application Options
settings.
