Can't pattern a thickened surface

That's disappointing... bug or as designed?

Sean,

We have the following two cases for patterning a thicken feature:

1. Thickened surface: For example, you have ExtrusionSrf1 and Thicken1. You
cannot select either in a pattern command. It's as designed (for now).

2. Thickened solid: For example, you have Extrusion1 (solid) and Thicken1.
You can only select the Thicken1 as a "secondary selection" (just like
Fillet) in a pattern command -- primary selection being Extrusion1 (solid).

NOTE: In general, you can't pattern any kind of surface in Inventor (for
now).

It was case one. I was designing a very thin contact and it was easiest to
construct as a sketch line surfaced and then thickened. It would have be
useful to be able to pattern this part....
