Can't Dimension to sharp point

I have a 4mm dia extrusion that has a 60 degree sharp point on one end. This is part of a larger model. I cannot seem to find a way to dimension to the end of the sharp point. I am trying to go from a perpendicular (to the pin axis)centerline to the sharp point, it won't lock on to the geometry. When I zoom in I notice the sharp point seems to be a radius. I even tryed using a chamfer then a revolve, same results. any help is appreciated. IV7 w/SP1. I also cannot get an angle dimension or an overall length dimension. Anything off of the point doesn't work!
Thank You

Bill

CHEAT!   I had
a pin with a parabolic tip that did the same thing. So I cheated. I made a 5
micron flat on the end and told no one. You have to zoom way in to get the
dimension line to take to the flat end. I have also put a 5 micron hole in a
part to catch the dimension demon. You can't see the feature but it will
take a dimension. Just experment and you may luck out. Just do not call out the
flat or hole on the drawing. Sort of like the old construction lines on the
paper drawings.

Okay Joe, I cheated! It works at .015" flat on the sharp tip. Surprisingly, nothing smaller worked?
I'll go with this for now, but I really would like to know the answer.

Thanks,
Bill

Or you could try to dimension to the apparent
intersection...see this page

I don't now if this will get you the dimensions
that you need?

How about place some Work points in the model where
you want to start the dimension from, then just display them in your
drawing. rmb the view, show contents, rmb the part, get work
features.
