Kent's interpretation is correct. I meant to say "You're using a locked
version if you can find the Portable License Utility in one of the
following:
Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Inventor 9
Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Inventor Professional 9
Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Inventor 10
Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Inventor Professional 10"

I think since Glen put the Professional inside [] it is optional, ... in
other words, if you have it follow that path, if not ignore it. Same with
the [9|10]

OK now I am nervous , you say IV 9pro but there is also a "locked" sp4
available for AIS 9 (not pro); am I going to have problems if I apply this
SP to my IV 9 SP3?

Andreas,
Locked versions use SafeCast or FLEXlm technology for licensing and
authorization. You're using a locked version if you can find the Portable
License Utility in Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Inventor
[Professional] [9 | 10].

What does "locked" mean?
