Assembly Segmentation

In an assembly file if you right click on a part, you have an option called
Segmentation. What is this? Believe it or not I could not find it in Help.

Playing around with the registry I see...Click it and see what happens. I'd
have a copy of the assembly saved elsewhere however...

This wasn't in the Registry. I was in Inventor in an .iam file. Right click
on one of the inserted components and it's the second from the bottom.

I believe that this only gets turned on if you have activated the debug
toolbars (which are turned on in the registry). Many of these tools are not
ready for prime time and can cause problems. Use at your own risk...

Sorry I had a blond moment. I was hoping I could post something about that
before you did!! I forgot I turned on the Test Toolbars. I now know why
you accused me of playing around with the registry. You caught me.

Is it time to go home yet?

A more accurate statement is that these tools are not meant for end users.
Their only purpose is to help developers and QA engineers debug models. If
you use these and screw up your model, you're out of luck.

I'm more amazed that very many people know HOW to get those tools up in R6. Necessity is the mother of invention ...
