Applicable contacts

I was trying to run a  stress analysis on the this part. As you see the blue part is an extrusion. the the 2 blue part become a round to end. whereas to the other end, as you see, is kept apart with the triangular sheet metal part. This part is not welded to the extrusion.

 

What would be the kind of contact applicable for this kind of parts.

If there is no pre-stress in the triangular pieces, for the 3 channel faces I would suggest Separation or Sliding/No Separation contacts. Sliding/No Separation may be faster to solve.

 

If the triangular piece is pre-stressed, you should look at overlapping the parts in the assembly and using the Shrink Fit/Sliding or Shrink Fit/No Sliding contact.
