Annotate item in .idw

Can you annotate an item (sketched symbol for instance) to a line in a
particular view like we could in Desktop?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what you are talking
about. I don't see "Insert Callout".

You are right-clicking on the Sketched Symbol and
selecting Insert to place it into the drawing, correct?  Instead,
right-click it and select Insert Callout.

The specific words (+) "Sketched Symbols" are top
level, the individual sketch symbols should be located under that. Should be
able to pick the (+) to show the available symbols, RMB and have Insert
present.

Right, that is how I insert them now. But if you
look at the reply from DJSpaceMouse he explicitly says "Insert Callout" instead
of Insert. Also if I do just use Insert how is it annotated?

Wait up ... that's wrong what I said anyway.
There is a symbol tool in R6 on the tool bar for placing symbols so you can add
a leader, rotate, whatever. By annotated, I suppose you mean filled in with
something appropriate. When you make the sketch symbol you can add fields, same
way you do when you make a title block.

John

Just to clarify. When you say annotate you mean attach to the geometry of
the view (Like MDT's AMANNOTATE) right?

If so people are not realising that R6 changed a bit 😉

To attach symbol to view use the "symbols" command from the drawing
annotation panel. Dbl click your symbol, place it, rmb continue.
To place an unattached symbol use the browser's insert and pick pick pick

There is no more "insert as callout" as every insertion from symbols command
can be a callout simply by dragging a learder from its picked point before
the RMB continue

Drew,

That's it exactly. It's not quite as good as MDT's Annotate but will work.
Thanks.
