Animate Record issue

I am using Inventor Pro 2012. In trying to record an animation, I get 0 byte files. With my IPN file open and tweaked, I hit the animate button. Then I hit record and a save window opens. I accept the default name and hit OK. Then another window opens for resolution settings. As soon as I hit OK the file is saved. I do not get a chance to hit the play button. What am I doing wrong?

I think this hotfix addresses thes issue you're seeing, but you might check to see if it's included with Service Pack 1 also:
