Angular Dimensions

On the drawings that I am currently working with I want the dimensions that have fractions to be angular.  I thought that I had clicked on angular dimension before I selected the do not ask again.  Apparently I selected the horizontal.  Is there a way to go in and change this since I have selescte to not ask again?

Hi rabenson28,

You can go to the Tools tab > Application Options button > Prompts tab to turn the pompt back on.

I hope this helps.

Ok I see the list of items but I am sorry I have went down the list and I do not see any that say to never prompt.  Also the ones that I have read thru do not seem to address the problem.   Do you by chance know which prompt it may be?

Hi rabenson28,

My apologies if I've steered you the in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, however I was not really sure what your question was and so I took my best guess.

Your thread title is "Angular Dimensions" which would suggest the question was about dimension between lines specifying the degrees between them. But your actual question seems to indicate something different.

I think maybe (I'm guessing again) what you're after can be found by right-clicking on the dimension and choosing Edit Dimension Style and looking at the Units tab under the Linear > Format option.

But this also sounds sort of like an option that you might encounter in AutoCAD rather than Autodesk Inventor. Can you confirm that you are indeed speaking of Autodesk Inventor and not AutoCAD?

If this is an AutoCAD related question you can access the Autostack dialog by editing the Mtext and then selecting the stacked text, then right-click, and choose Properties on the shortcut menu. In the Stack Properties dialog box, click the AutoStack button. In the future you can post AutoCAD related questions here:

If I'm still way off base, could you provide a screen shot of the dimension in question?

I hope this helps.

Ok I am sorry I see what you are saying with the confusion.  Yes I am working in Inventor.  The next thing I need to clarify is that when I am adding either leader information or text when you type in 3/4" it woulld ask of you want fraction (horizontal), Fraction not stacked Fraction (diagonal).  When I am just dimensioning something I have the fractions set for the diagonal and would like for the ones in the notes and the leaders to be the same.

Again I am sorry after reading this again I see where all the confusion came in from me.

I am also attaching a screen shot so maybe that will help a little.

The 3/4 is the one I want to change.

Hi rabenson28,

Okay that helps. I had to refresh my memory on this, but basically it's the same option as AutoCAD:

Edit the text object and then select the stacked text, then right-click, and choose Properties on the shortcut menu, then click the AutoStack button as shown:

I hope this helps.
