I would like to reopen this thread.
Because I have a question about adaptive iParts.
My case:
I want the stock numbers from the iParts, that’s why I need iParts.
I need 5 diameters tube, but the length has to be adaptive.
Is this possible?
So if I use diameter A with length X the stock number has to be 1.
And with diameter B and length X the stock number has to be 2.
Thanks,
Xiffix
We also have faced a problem with adaptive iparts.
So, we have created an adaptive parts in an assembly. Then we opened the part and changed it to an ipart, creating a table.
Once we go back to the assembly, and replaced the part for the ipart, it loses the adaptive feature....
Hi! Although adaptive is kind of supported in iPart, the notion of influencing a member in an assembly runs against the original design intent of iPart (being library components with clearly defined dimensions on the table). You may find it working in some cases but you can run into problems, if adaptive iPart member needs to adapt but it is not allowed.
I personally do not think it is a good workflow to use.
Thanks!
