3d sketch points.

In a 3d Sketch.. It would Be So Nice if I could Just Click "Point" and Enter the X,Y&Z coordinates for a Bunch Of points... Then connect the Points with Lines and stuff.
What i'm making is a curved Tube.. & use Sweep to follow the path..

Anyhow.. Maybe there is an Easier way.. 3d Skecthes are kinda foggy to me.. (Rarely use it)..
All I know now is to Make Sketches & work planes and axi with Lines and stuff all over then to attach the 3d sketch point and lines to...
I Know exactly where i want the Points to Go.. It would just be Nice to enter the Coordinates and Place the Points directly.. Without having to Create bunches of Work planes and Stuff...

In Inventor R10, you are allowed to do what you exactly want. Are you on R10
or earlier version?

If you have a lot of points to enter and would like the option of being
able to update their positions, you might consider my addin which reads
point data from an excel spreadsheet, and optionally can adjust the
positions of grounded workpoints by changing the values in the spreadsheet
and re-reading the file in using the addin. Link:
