3D walk through

I wanting to have a produce a 3d walk through to show our companies products. My idea os to model a building and have models of your products around the building shown in there ideal environments. I have done a simple version of this and i have found that the zoom, pan and orbit commands within inventor are not the easiest for nagigating within this modelled building. What add ons or compatable programs could i use to make this easier?

First, do you have your assembly in Perspective view mode? This allows
fly-thrus.
In my experience, 3d Studio max and/or Presenter 3D are the best presentation
softwares. Discreet products (sub of Autodesk). Very compatible with Inventor.

Yeah i have perspective view turned on, but i still dont find it very easy to navigate. With 3D studio max and presenter 3D, can you save a walk through to play on any PC? ie avi files?

Taken from an earlier post...

I've also done this with the same
setup.

Really simple, get a SpaceBall and Camtasia. Set your video hardware
acceleration to 0 (off). Capture your Inventor window but do it slowly.
With Camtasia, you can set up a time delay capture. By doing this you
can capture the flythrough slowly and have it play back much faster.
Turning off hardware acceleration helps prevent lost frames. When done,
you can use Dubit to add sound into the animation.

I recently did one of these as a Perspective fly through on a 9,900 part
assembly. With perspective fly throughs you can fly into the parts,
through walls then back out. Very cool. I think I did this one with a
4x speed up. To keep parts from disappearing or teselating, you will
want to set Inventor's video to smooth and 0 on frame rate.

Since we're on the subject....how do you set up clipping plane to not lose part
view 1/2 way thru part? IOW, how do you set it deeper? Or does it depend on size
of assembly?

Yup,

Max or Viz will pretty much export to any file
type. (Max is used for gaming and movie industries, it's like AutoCAD while Viz
is like AutoCAD LT)

Seems to be a fixed setting in IV.

It sounds as if you do not have a spaceball. If you work in IV you need one. They are great for panning zooming and orbiting in IV. You can purchase a 3003 for $50 on E-bay a 4000 will be between $100 and $200.

Get Navisworks 3 (publisher or presenter) You
can record movies walking/flying through the building, add textures, render,
section, create preset views  and best of all you can have it all linked
with you Inventor model/assembly.
href="http://www.navisworks.com">www.navisworks.com
I believe you can
dowload a demo.

Turn on Orbit and pick a point at the farthest point. This should cause
that point to center in the display, It is now you vanishing point.
Back out and follow the directions posted by Joe Bartels.

Another option would be to create a Presentation file (IPN) and make a
bunch of camera moves.

In the not to distant future, Cameras will be added to Animator V3+.

Use VIZ to make a VRML model. Then have the viewers
walk thru using one of the free viewers.

Sorry if i`m reposting this but I cant see my reply here ...

Get Navisworks 3 (publisher or presenter) You can record movies,
walking/flying through the building, add textures, render, section, create
preset views and best of all you can have it all linked with you Inventor
model/assembly so any update will reflect in the navisworks model - And it
can all be run on a pretty much standard computer (i.e. laptop) You can also
create complete files that can be viewed with a free viewer.
Check navisworks.com , I believe you can dowload a demo.
