2013 FRAME GENERATOR PARTS LIST

I am looking to make a cut list with the parts from a a frame I modeled. The one thing I am having trouble with is "merging" or "combining" the same length parts. I thought I have done this before but cannot find what I did before. I tried using the grouping but it doesnt change the qty. of parts. also I then cannot enter a "item" value, it just stays blank.

Any help would be great.

Dell t1700 Xeon 16 gb ram
Windows 7 64 bit
NVIDIA QUADRO K4000

The merge function looks at the Part Number column. From the screenshots, I was unable to distinguish what the Part Numbers of the files were.  Try reviewing your assembly BOM's Part Number column. The below link illustrates a fast way to update Part Numbers so that they match by stock number and weight. You may consider doing something similar.
